Excellent- really helpful.

I've read a lot about Myers Briggs personality types and this is the best book that I have ever found on the subject. MB was intended to also highlight the more subtle aspects and interplay of dominant versus non-dominant traits, as this reveals very important insights into each type. Many books and articles on Myers Briggs personality types don't therefore cover all of the intended territory, but this one does, and with great depth and insight. I really learned a lot more about my own type and also my girlfriends type. Very helpful!
I also found the quality of the writing to be clear and illuminating. The book took me to a deeper level of understanding of MB type dynamics and for the most part, without losing me.

Hands down the best explanation on "The 16 types"... but prepare to be disappointed.

If you have read about your type on their website personalityjunkie.com, and are excited about more in depth information on your type. Prepare to be disappointed.
If you are not familiar with the website, and wonder if this book on the "The 16 Personalities" is the right one to read on your kindle, then go for it. Dr. A.J. Drenth is, hands down the best writer I have encountered on the Meyers Briggs types. The profiles go deeper in explaining the functions of each type, and creates a unique opportunity to understand your own and others types, than many other experts on this subject.
But if you are familiar with Dr. A.J. Drenths website and have read about your type there... then I would like you to consider this:
With my type, the book only featurered about one and a half page extra content than what is on their website. There is nothing wrong with the extra content, there is just not very much of it. The website even features extra articles on career and relationship matters, and even comparisons between some types. All of this which is not featured in this book.Yes, the book does have a very good intro and generel information before describing each type, but then again this can also be found on the website.
At the end of the article on my type on the website, they recommend to read this book for more in depth knowledge on my type. I was very disappointed, and I can not recommend you to buy this book, if you as me, want more than what is on the website. Unless you want the essential info in a pdf file for offline acces. Yes, you do get that little bit of extra content, and you will be supporting some good work, but don't expect a lot if you have already read about your type on the website.

eBook now has TOC along with 'function stack' and 3-phase personality type development models

This is an interesting brand-new book which now has a TOC (table of contents) so that you can easily find your or others' Myers-Briggs� preferences. Author A.J. Drenth was very responsive in getting it added after I discovered it had gone missing in my Kindle for PC version.
The 'function stack' concept is an interesting perspective. You can find about it in the LOOK INSIDE! section along with a discussion of Personality Type Development in three phases:
* Phase I: The Emergence of the Dominant Function
* Phase II: The Dominant-Inferior Tug-of-War
* Phase III: Integration
I searched first for my ENFP profile and it was spot on. Next step: to review profiles for both daughters & grandson and see what they say.
One thing I miss is having more examples and stories, such as "For example, ENFP's are rarely tempted by mundane S(i) tasks such as paying bills or keeping records." in the Inferior Function section. My credit rating is due largely to the woman who has handled my finances since 1995.
This gives me yet another set of profiles for my clients to use in verifying their preferences and I look forward to exploring the profiles more.
