EUS BOOK REVIEW

The revised and updated second edition encompasses the entire spectrum of EUS from basic principles of ultrasound to advanced interventional techniques .The editors have to be lauded for their painstaking effort to include every aspect of endosonography and the contents are contributed by authorities from all over the world.
The initial chapters give a guidance on setting up an EUS service,and a detailed description of equipment and accessories available. The how to perform EUS in various stations are a step by step guide to the beginner and are wonderfully complemented by the videos.The descriptive staging of carcinomas are emphasised with beautiful images. EUS based algorithms are an informative new addition and therapeutic section has been expanded with superb videos.
The digital version with regular updates is a thoughtful and novel idea . The chapter on cytology with illustrations ,tips on increasing yield and colourful stained images evokes lot of interest.
I would like to recommend it as a must have book for every endosonographer.

Exceptional EUS Review

I found this book provided a comprehensive review for both the basic and advanced endosonographer. The initial chapters provided a framework for understanding basic EUS. The specific sections gave concise reviews for anatomy as well as pathology. In addition, cutting edge techniques were reviewed with great graphics. I found this text to be a perfect teaching tool for our trainees, and I would recommend it highly for those in need of a reference.

Good textbook

Excellent text book which is very well written. However, the online video leaves a lot to be desired. Elsevire should reconsider their lan not to supply a DVD/cd with the book as now one has to connect to Internet to get the content. On top of this, their servers are not fast enough resulting in relatively long time for te video to buffer.
