Dry and boring writing style

The book looked promising... I wished I hadn't bought it. The writing style is dry and a bit boring. If you can get into this place by special appointment you can see this thing. Some passages drone on with the authors opinions: "By prior appointment... you can visit the Pinacoteca Manfrediana... Unfortunately, a large number of the paintings are of little interest..." Secret Venice is just not written in an engaging manner, more like listening to a pompous acquaintance bestow his "pearls of wisdom" upon you.

This is not your regular guide book, very interesting off the track findings, some of them are included in other books but you have them here all grouped together. It was delivered on time.
