Getting past the emotional hurdles

I've read plenty on financial self-help books but they all missed the key point addressed by Carrie and Derek in this book - the importance of learning to honestly and effectively communicate with your partner. Yes, the book is short and somewhat light-hearted but that only makes it easier to get through. The process itself is so simple. The hardest part is getting past the emotional hurdles, admitting mistakes, dropping the blame, and facing your fears. I agree with their assertion that better money conversation skills make for better and longer marriages. I will definitely recommend this to friends and family.

He provides great starting/talking points for partners to broach what can be a sensitive subject for some, as well as plenty of practical tips for reaching what will be (by the end of the book) shared financial goals. Plenty of humor mixed it to make it an easy read. Loved it!
