I bought this and found it mediocre at best and was surprised that it had so many 5 star reviews...then i checked the publication date November 20 and found that 22 five star reviews had gone on by the 23rd....in the end it was 99 cents, but I have to wonder about the reviews, seems all those reviewers have never read a 1,2,3 or 4 star book lol. Anyone ever heard of John Locke and his reviews?

Not for Orthopaedists....

This book from Walter Greene is a text which goes throught basic information highlighting many important orthopaedic conditions. Good book for students, primary care doctors, or those in ancillary staff. Very few illustrations provided, and less detail than expected. No approaches provided. Beware, more of a general ortho text than an anatomy reference.

The leader: "atlas quality reference" is a little misleading.

I give this books a 5 stars for young doctors in front of a trainee in orthopaeics

I read this books and I think it is ok for beginers, its a way to think orthopaedically....for young fellows just as an pre view of the orthopaedics.
Today, may 31st 2010 I can say some other things abour this book: I bought and read this book because I had a traveling time so I use to read in the afternoon and believe me I found a lot of data I never saw in textbooks, there are many tips for the expertice clinician, I found this book as enjoyable as I found Salter's classical book 30 years ago. Of course a resident need to read and study textbooks as Campbell, Chapman, Thatchjain, and many books during the training hospital years, but a book like this will give any one a very nice afternoons and ...so many tips I did not remmember I read before.

About the Author
Born in Kasauli in 1934, Ruskin Bond grew up in Jamnagar, Dehradun, New Delhi and Shimla. His first novel, The Room on the Roof, written when he was seventeen, received the John Llewellyn Rhys Memorial Prize in 1957. Since then he has written over five hundred short stories, essays and novellas (some included in the collections Dust on the Mountains and Classic Ruskin Bond) and more than forty books for children.

He received the Sahitya Akademi Award for English writing in India in 1993, the Padma Shri in 1999, and the Delhi government s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi s Bal Sahitya Puraskar for his total contribution to children s literature in 2013 and was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2014. He lives in Landour, Mussoorie, with his extended family.

Tired of short "books" with cliffhanger-endings and no forewarning in book descriptions.

I liked this book, but I am irritated by the cliffhanger-ending. The book is 173 pages long. Combine the volumes into one book and be done with it already. I don't care enough about the ending to pay for two more books, just to be honest. I'm sick of paying for these short reads that could easily make up one strong book. I appreciate the authors who include in the book descriptions whether the book is a standalone or has a cliffhanger-ending with a follow-up book. Just because a book is listed as part of a series does not mean it can't be a standalone, and authors/publishers should be courteous enough to clarify that in the book descriptions. While the book was good, it didn't leave me anxious to buy into the rest of the series to see what happens.

Rip Off again. Cliffhanger. Don't even start. Cost is way too high.

One star mainly because its a cliffhanger. I'm sick and tired of authors pulling this crap. Make is a standalone or all in one like the best authors do. This trend is tiring and dishonest. Don't even start this book. The price is way too high when you consider the price of each " chapter" you have to buy. These puts are Chapters, not whole books. Amazon needs to stop accepting these authors that do this. And I plan on being one of hundreds if not thousands of readers that discuss just that with them.

Downloaded this book for free and won't be continuing to the next one. This was very boring in my opinion. I understand all the angst on the side of Tex but the main character, Ruby, was like a dish rag - bland and uninteresting. There was so much inner dialogue on Ruby's part - it would have been a lot better to have more show and less tell. There is no real ending and there is something cliffhanger, which I don't mind, if the book is good. In this case, it just annoyed me. My apologies to the author but seriously the characters had no chemistry.

Graphics in color not good for Kindle paperwhite

Information in the book seems to be quite useful. Problem comes from the graphics that are used a lot in the book. They are apparently in color and because I am reading them on a Kindle paperwhite I cannot see the differences that the author is talking about.

Would be nice if authors of technical books would use graphics that would work in color and in black and white.
